In Yalla Permaculture we believe that The Fruit of the Knowledge is the Action Upon It and for that reason we love being involved in Education, “To Lead Forth” in Latin, and the demonstration of what is achievable through practical on the ground work, courses, consults and aid work with the aim of leaving a nucleus of local teachers who can continue the appropriate educational work and the action upon it.

Our experience and focus is on regenerating Arid and Tropical landscapes.

Salah Hammad

My passion for good food led me to sustainable food production. It all started when I was volunteering to help the struggling small farmers in my home countries, Palestine and Jordan. The experience exposed me to the urgent need for an alternative approach. This is when I decided to make the transition to a more meaningful life and a career in Permaculture following a 10 year long experience working in the food manufacturing industry.

After immigrating to Australia in 2010 I decided that a good start for my new life in Australia would be to attend a Permaculture Design Certificate course (PDC) with Geoff Lawton at the Permaculture Research Institute (PRI Australia), which led to me staying on the farm to learn more about the  application of the design science and be engaged in growing healthy food and living off the land.

During the 4 years spent living on the farm I was involved in the day to day management of the farm,  training of volunteers and interns on the various systems operating on the farm, including vegetable crop gardens and nursery systems, small and grazing animal systems, compost and energy systems, and food forests, and pushed by my mentors Geoff and Nadia Lawton to teach in various courses and consult on a number of projects.

Now PRI registered teacher and a member of the Permaculture Sustainable Consultants team, I divide my time between facilitating Permaculture Design Courses and consulting on different Agroecology and Permaculture projects throughout the world.

 

Nousheen Rehman

Qualified Architect with an MA in Landscape Architecture and a trained in Permaculture. Nousheen she has an eye for detail in presenting the designs and proposals from concept through to detail design.
